An immersive exhibition inside the human body arrives at Espacio Delicias this September, when Human Universe – The Experience opens as the show's world premiere. Visitors move through six themed rooms built around virtual reality, 3D projection and interactive displays that recreate arteries, the brain and the immune system from the inside.

What it is

Human Universe – The Experience spans more than 1,000 square metres inside a custom-built structure at Espacio Delicias, styled as a fictional research base called Genesis Base. From there, the route runs through six rooms covering human evolution, the nervous system and the immune system, using virtual reality headsets, immersive 3D mapping and interactive stations rather than static displays or text panels.

The 70-minute route was developed by a multidisciplinary team of anatomy specialists, science communicators and 3D artists, aiming for scientific accuracy alongside the visual scale of a theatrical production, in a route designed for visitors aged eight and over. After its Madrid premiere, the show is scheduled to tour other Spanish cities before an international run.

Why it's worth attending

Human Universe is billed as the first exhibition of its kind to stage a full-body immersive journey rather than focusing on a single organ or system, and Madrid hosts its world premiere before any other city. The format leans on virtual reality and interactive rooms rather than a conventional layout of panels and glass cases, aimed at visitors who want a hands-on science experience rather than a traditional museum visit.

Practical info

Access is via the side of the Museo del Ferrocarril building, at Calle del Párroco Eusebio Cuenca, 63. The experience runs around 70 minutes and is recommended for visitors aged eight and older; the space is wheelchair accessible. Arriving 10 minutes before the ticketed time slot is recommended, since entry follows a fixed schedule rather than open access.
