A new horror festival takes over IFEMA Madrid for four days at the end of October, turning Pavilion 14.1 and its surrounding grounds into a themed convention built around film, gaming, cosplay and immersive exhibits inspired by horror cinema, television, video games and comics.
What it is
MADHORROR brings together an international film festival, permanent exhibitions and immersive experiences, an Asian Horror section, workshops and masterclasses, tabletop and video game zones, and a themed outdoor area called MADHORROR Village with food stalls and a wrestling-style ring.
The venue is organised into named rooms across Pavilion 14.1, including a Cthulhu-themed board game room, an escape-box room called Living Dead, and a signings-and-photos forum for confirmed guests, alongside a separate horror film festival running in the South Auditorium two floors below.
The festival also runs the first edition of the FEROCA Dark Order Awards, a cosplay competition with €3,500 in cash prizes and material kits, open for entries ahead of the event.
