The FIA European Truck Racing Championship closes its 2026 season at the Circuito de Madrid Jarama, a two-day motorsport event where five-tonne race trucks with 1,200 horsepower go wheel to wheel on one of Spain's most historic tracks. It is the 39th Spanish Grand Prix, and as the final round it is likely to decide the European title.

What it is

The weekend puts two championships on one bill. The FIA ETRC, the continental series, brings Europe's leading truck drivers to Madrid for its season finale, while the Spanish Truck Racing Championship (Jarama RACE CECC), now in its eighth edition, also runs its last round and crowns a new national champion.

The machines are the draw: racing trucks of around five tonnes with 13,000 cc engines, braking and overtaking at close quarters through Jarama's corners. The circuit opened in 1967 as Spain's first permanent racetrack and has hosted Formula 1 and motorcycle racing on its 3.8 km layout.

Between races, a Fan Zone runs across both days with racing simulators, a karting track, Scalextric, remote-control cars, food trucks, merchandise stands, a driver presentation and autograph sessions. A limited paddock supplement opens up the teams' area.

Why it's worth the trip

Truck racing comes to Madrid once a year, and with both championships ending here, this weekend carries title stakes rather than a mid-season points round. One ticket covers both days, children under five enter free without a seat, and the Fan Zone fills the gaps between sessions, which makes it one of the more family-friendly motorsport weekends near the city.

Practical info

The event is outdoors and runs in rain, so bring layers and stick or cream sun protection (aerosols are banned). Food, soft drinks, coolers and chairs are allowed in the grass Pelouse areas; glass, alcohol, pets, large bags, drones and DSLR cameras are not. Free parking is signposted from exit 26 of the A-1 heading north.

FAQ

Is one ticket valid for both days of the truck race at Jarama?
Yes. Every ticket for the 39th Spanish Grand Prix of the FIA European Truck Racing Championship is a single pass covering Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 October 2026. Gates open at 9:00 on both days, an hour before the first track sessions, and the general car park opens at 8:00.

How much is the paddock supplement at the Jarama truck race?
The paddock supplement costs €19 per person and is added to a standard ticket, with only 2,000 available. It opens the European Championship teams' area, where trucks, mechanics and drivers work a few metres away. The Tribuna Recta + Paddock ticket already includes it. Motorhomes, garages and restricted team zones stay off-limits.

How do I get to Circuito del Jarama without a car?
Interurban buses 171, 193 and 195 serve the circuit, with services from Plaza de Castilla stopping near the public entrances; the organisers also list Cercanías line C4. Taxis and VTC cars have a dedicated drop-off zone next to Access 3. Drivers should use exit 26 of the A-1 heading north; trucks and motorhomes cannot use the car park.

Is the Jarama truck race suitable for children?
Yes, there is no minimum age. Children under 5 go free without taking a seat, and reduced youth tickets apply from 5 to 14. Under-18s must stay with a responsible adult at all times. Fan Zone activities such as karting, simulators, Scalextric and remote-control cars are paid for on site, by card or cash.

Is the Jarama truck race accessible for wheelchair users?
Yes. A reserved parking area for visitors with reduced mobility sits next to Access 3, and a shuttle runs between the Pelouse and grandstand zones and the paddock entrance. The organisers recommend the Tribuna Recta + Paddock ticket for wheelchair users and their companions. Questions can be sent to info@jarama.org.
